Dudley Rd Flats

Our proposal for infill housing fills this acute parcel with 22 dwellings by utilizing three single-stair buildings. By removing the corridor typical of standard developments, we unlock more family-sized and dual-aspect homes. Below-grade and upper story multistory dwellings capitalize on more living space, expanding the development potential of this site specific missing middle proposal.

By splitting the project into three separate buildings, each one can utilize its own vertical circulation, and avoid a long dark corridor. The massing follows the rhythm of adjacent rowhomes while packing in more dwellings through flat unit layouts.

A variety of dwellings are created, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes within flat and multistory configurations.

Roofs slope to face the south for optimal solar exposure and energy creation. Narrow lightwells on the perimeter and in the center allow daylight into multiple sides of each dwelling.
