Stones Throw Residence
A growing family based in New York City was looking for a retreat near the hills of Mount Washington State Forest. We organized the house around its primary southwest view, using two intersecting bars to separate public and private spaces. One bar contains the social program, while the other houses the private chambers. A transparent entry links the two volumes while creating a transitional buffer. The simple structure also streamlines the roof trusses to reduce costs while maintaining a cozy massing.
